Perfect waves in six simple steps Step 1: Divide dry, smoothly combed hair into two sections (sectioning clips not included). Step 2: Within each half, separate hair into even layers typically 3-4, depending on your hair thickness. Step 3: Press thumb rest to open head, position styler where you want wave to start, and close the clamp. Step 4: Push the button corresponding to the side of your head left rotation on the left side, right rotation on the rightthe Secret Wave turns automatically, doing all of the work for you.
